- Play hard to get but not too hard: Just like guys love going after girls who are hard to get, readers go after copies which have an element of mystery of them. But remember, not to play too hard as it may drive the customers away. Adopt the middle path, as the Buddha said.
- Connect emotionally: Another essential of copywriting is to connect emotionally with the readers. Remember, most of us make decisions with our heart, not our mind. An informal writing style works best to connect at an emotional level with the readers, but it depends from project to project.
- Be innovative: In the digital age of today, copywriting is not about writing only. Try to be innovative and introduce other elements in your copy. For example- writing an interesting story with video elements thrown in can work wonders to get the attention of your target traffic.
- Break the rules: The last essential thing to keep in mind while copywriting is to break the rules more often than not. I know I told you giving the answer in the first few lines is vital but sometimes, it may just work as well to give the answer the end of the copy. Try to customize the writing style according to the project. Rules are meant for boring people, and good copywriters should never be and never are boring.
